Different types of Men's Celtic Rings by Judy Baker
The designs and styles of Men's Celtic Rings have been a popular fashion trend ever since, but with the increasing number of men who are already accustomed into wearing wedding rings, Men's Celtic Rings have attained even greater popularity.
Wedding rings, contrary to other types of jewelry, are not a men's fashion accessory but is worn on the hand as a symbol of matrimonial commitment. The essence of these jewelry items are matched to symbolism similar to Celtic jewelry styles and designs.
There are numerous styles and designs of Men's Celtic Rings, but there are only three which are popular as ideal wedding rings. A brief description about the three varying designs of Men's Celtic Rings is listed below.
The first type of Men's Celtic Ring is the Claddagh Ring. This style is a very prominent design for both men and women's matrimonial rings. This ring originated from a story about an Irish man who was being exiled for slavery and was accidentally kidnapped by sea pirates and sold to a goldsmith. The goldsmith realized that the man, Robert Joyce, was very talented, thus he taught him the basics of goldsmith craft and trade. When he gained his freedom and went back to Ireland, he presented his girlfriend a ring that symbolized love, friendship and loyalty, thus, the first Claddagh ring was born.
The second most popular Men's Celtic Ring is the Celtic Warrior Ring. According to historians, there were two men who were digging for potatoes who accidentally found the Ardagh chalice. It is believed to be the best and most perfect example of craftsmanship during that time. The complex and intricate design of the warrior ring is patterned form the chalice's shield.
The last type of Men's Celtic Ring is the Weave and Knot Design Ring. These rings display simpler styles which are prevalent on a lot of Celtic jewelry or items. Its knots and weaves are symbols for companionship and partnership.
